Over almost five decades, through experience, expertise, and driven by relentless passion, Waterworks has established leadership in the bath and kitchen world—a foundation built on impeccable design, artisanal craftsmanship, and rigorous engineering.
Starting as a small family business in 1978, Waterworks has been led by CEO & Creative Director Peter Sallick for over 30 years, enabling a long-term vision for the company to be shaped and cultivated in a world where fads and short-term thinking often prevail.
Founded as a seller of specialty bath fittings for homes in Connecticut, the company has grown to offer a complete and proprietary vision for the two most valuable rooms in the home, including bath and kitchen fittings, bathtubs and sinks, accessories and lighting, surfaces, and cabinetry—all with a singular focus on extraordinary design and quality. Along the way, Waterworks has built deep relationships with the most accomplished designers and architects in the world, working on many of the most extraordinary homes, hotels, and apartment buildings.

Our passion leads us to explore many design styles, and we love working directly with a wide range of materials. We see our collection reflecting traditional, transitional, and contemporary aesthetics. We love the materiality of brass, glass, ceramic, stone, cotton, leather, wood, and all the materials that constitute our products. And we can’t learn enough about all the techniques for making, including casting, forging, turning, carving, engraving, enameling, weaving, glazing, and so many more. We love taking risks and seeing just how far our ideas can take us.
QUALITY and
ENGINEERING
Our products can’t only be beautiful; they also have to perform over decades, like a great watch. As a result, everything we make is a deep coordination between design and engineering. Through our engineering process, we strive not only to articulate fine visual details, but also define all of the waterways, connections, components, valves, and compliance standards required to ensure proper function and safety. From modeling to prototyping to testing, we undertake a comprehensive approach.
Design and engineering intersect in our factories, where we achieve quality at the hands of what we call a “just right” mix of artisanship and technology. While it may be nice to think about the incredibly important hands that touch our products in so many ways, we all also benefit from the latest technology, such as AI-enabled machine tools to turn metal, water jet lathes to transform marble, and LED to make our lighting that much better. It’s a delicate balance of the old ways and new ways that allow us to achieve amazing quality.
SUSTAINABILITY
Sustainability comes into play as our products incorporate recycled raw materials whenever possible, conserve water, minimize contaminants to near zero, and follow stringent protocols for materials and waste handling—all while making products that will not need to be replaced for decades. We only produce in factories that have attractive working conditions and take care of people.
