Design Partnership
Waterworks &
Roman and Williams
In 2010, Waterworks set out to challenge conventional notions of scale and detail for fittings. Seeking an inspired partner, Peter Sallick identified Roman and Williams, a design team pioneering an aesthetic that explores the tension between refinement and rebellion. This was the catalyst for a collaboration that began in the imagination, was perfected by principles and endures through an iconic body of work: R.W. Atlas. Referencing elements from the p ast — fire engine valves, Leica camera lenses and early mechanical design — the beauty of utility is expressed as a singularly impressive collection, finding balance between intense scale and honest materiality.

“We wanted to be ambitious with this collection. To embrace the innate contrast between large scale and small details. To honor the makers & the techniques. To create subtlety with weight.”
Peter Sallick
CEO & Creative Director, Waterworks

“We believe in things that are made very well with a level of attention and detail that brings joy to everyday life. Luxury is a manifestation of thoughtfulness.”
